Obituary

Kenneth Charles Walker was born March 15, 1969 to the Lewis Charles and Lizzie Mae Miller Walker in Miami, Florida. Kenneth was the baby of seven children, magically making his grand entrance into the world 5 minutes after his twin sister.

Kenneth received his formal education in Miami, FL. He attended Shadow A Lawn, Parkview and Scott Lake Elementary, North Miami Junior High and North Miami Senior High where he graduated in 1987. Kenneth attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA for two semesters from 1987-88. He received his CDL and gained employment with Tyson Foods, Ryder, LEI, Cargill, Estes and Yellow Freight in trucking and logistics. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing personal security.

In 1999, Kenneth performed one of his many surprise magic tricks and adventured into a new life relocating to Atlanta, GA. His employment with Ryder trucking was transferred from Florida. In 2001, he began employment for "TripleQit" Inc. Construction, owned and operated by his late brother-in-law, Joseph Evans. In 2003, he gained employment with Gilford Johnson Wholesale, whose name later changed to E.J Welch due to a merger and acquisition. Kenneth worked as the Distribution Center Manager. He was a hands-on leader with significant experience in warehousing, facilities management, inventory control, safety, personal supervision and freight and transportation. He also demonstrated superb strategic planning and financial management skills. Most importantly he placed high premium on mentoring, coaching, and developing others. He was also tasked with the responsibility of approving and submitting payroll and inventory- timely and accurate deliveries and assuring safety compliance with transportation regulations.  Jokingly, Kenneth would refer to himself as the "HNC." As a boss, he was well respected by employees and employers. Kenneth's tenure at this job was from May 2003 to June 2023. He committed 20 years of devoted service.

Kenneth was a "free spirit." He lived for the day. He enjoyed fine cuisine, all forms of entertainment…comedy, concerts, plays, circus acts, amusement parks, light adventure, travel, cruises, sports, and most of all family gatherings. He was a "for sure" Miami Dolphin, Hurricane and Georgia Bull Dog fan.  Kenneth loved various genres of music especially country music and knew the lyrics to every song he knew.

He had an immense passion for family. He was a family man. He loved his children and grandchildren and cherished his sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.  Kenneth will be remembered for all the heart he shared with family and friends. He truly loved each of them, and if you knew him, you knew it. Kenneth carried himself with dignity, strength and was full of love.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. On March 22, 2024, at 3:39 a.m., a band of angels gracefully appeared unto Kenneth and granted him his wings. He accepted them, jumped on his chariot, and rode away on the blissful clouds, through the heavenly golden gates smiling saying, "Heaven just couldn't wait. I am here!"  Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Louis Charles and Lizzie Mae Walker; stepfather, James Lowe; brother, Jeffrey Walker; sister, Carolyn Walker and brother-in law, Joseph Evans.

His departure left a deep wound and is gravely felt. Family, friends, and countless others are profoundly saddened and will miss him dearly. But we are happy knowing that his soul is peacefully resting in the bosom of God, free from pain and worry.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his loving, witty spirit two children, Alyssa Walker (Miami), Grace (Josh) Walker Cledanor, Winter Haven, FL; four siblings, Ronnie (Pamela) Walker, Melinda McDaniel, Sharon Evans, and Kimberly Walker (his twin); two nieces, Jennifer and Christina; four nephews, Christopher, Jason (Shamika), Bryan and Jerome; God brother, Kevin Hines; and a host of other loving relatives, Bethel Temple Church family and friends.
