Herman J Davis, Jr.

Herman Davis, Jr. was born in Webb, Alabama on March 16, 1932 to the late Grant Dixon and Elizabeth May Tolbert. 

Reverend Herman Davis Jr. was very faithful to the churches he pastored, to his family, and most of all to God.  He was well known as “Reb” from Milton, FL all the way to Blakely, GA.  He was a father and a grandfather to not just his family and neighborhood but neighborhoods from near and far.  He loved pastoring, his children, grandchildren, farming and fishing.  Words cannot capture his character, as Rev. Davis would say, “I done my best, and I work from sun to sun but my work is never done!”  He was loved by everyone that knew him and will certainly be missed by all.

Reverend Davis departed this life and entered into the Gates of Heaven on Thursday, June 18, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant Dixon and Elizabeth May Tolbert; his brothers: Bruce Tolbert and Mac Tolbert Jr.; His sister: Earnestine Frazier; His children: Linda Gayle Davis, Comma B. Davis, Roger L. Davis and Tamela M. Moore.

To continue his legacy and cherish his memory, he leaves his wife: Betty Lee Davis; His four sons: Herman L. Davis, Jr., Harvey L. Davis, Homer L. Davis, Sr. and Dwight Scott; and his two lovely daughters:  Joyce Bankston and Julie “My Baby” (Glenn) Cobb; His 23 grandchildren: Harvey Jr, Eric, Zirick,, Nachelle, Denise, Marcello, Derrie, Deltra, Toshiba, Tavia, Homer Jr., Glenn Junior, Shareka, Saiteria, Shaquera, Rochelle, Shaquil, DeQuan, Kaitlin, Mario, Myisha,  YaHoma and Darius along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, great grandchildren and many friends.
