Lillie Kimble Obituary

Lillie Grace Kelly was born to the late David Kelly and Lillie Mae Thompson Kelly on February 18, 1942 in Colquitt, Georgia. She attended the rural schools of Miller County, GA.

She was a life long member of Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bainbridge, GA.  Lillie was a seamstress at Seminole Sewing Co. for 20+ years.  She advanced her career to a certified nurses assistant for 20+ years at Miller County Hospital.

Lillie Grace was diagnosed with a rare lung disease in 1999.  Her life afterwards was a constant battle, but she kept a positive attitude.  She would often say, “I’m in God’s Hands.”

It was during recent years that her health condition began to decline,  Minor activities such as washing dishes or walking to the mailbox became overtaxing.  But amazingly, she still kept a positive attitude.  She was confident in her relationship with her Lord and Savior.  Her words evolved to, “I’ll be here until He calls me.”

On January 17, 2020, Lillie Grace received that call.  She is preceded in death by a brother, James L. Kelly.  Her life will certainly be a testimony to many. Despite her health challenges, she kept her faith in God.  SHE WAS A BRAVE WARRIOR!

Her memories will be cherished by her husband, Gene Kimble, Colquitt, GA.  She had three children, Randolph (Michele) Nelson, Jr. Nashville, TN; Ulysee “Smokey” (Sandra) Perkins, Jr., Colquitt, GA and Amanda Perkins whom she raised like her own, Dothan, AL; seven grandchildren, Kristy (Jeremy) Smith, Donalsonville, GA; Sabrina Nelson, Yolanda Nelson, Shakayla Perkins, Danavia Perkins, and Jamie Hayes all of Colquitt, GA; and Michael Hayes of San Antonio, TX.  Two great grandchildren, J. J. Smith and D.J. Freeman; one sister-in-law, Ella Hodge. Siblings, Archie Lee (Mamie) Kelly, Kissimmee, FL; Henry Kelly, Calista Kimble; Bertha Lee Bailey  and Annie Kate Kelly all of Colquitt, GA; Ruby (Shelman) Alexander, Orlando, FL and Eunice (Johnell) Thomas, Atlanta, GA; one aunt Ella Fair Thompson, Orlando, FL, and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
